Here are mine and why\u2026<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Functions<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 actions that are proper for a person. \u00a0I always want to do only the action that is proper for me to do. \u00a0I learned this from a book called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2eVockW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Strength Finders<\/a>\u201d. In this book, it teaches ordinary people like you and me how to concentrate on the skills that we are good at and less on the skills and talents we\u2019re not. \u00a0The return on investing in our gifts, trades and talents far outweigh trying to improve the skills that we\u2019re not born with.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Processes<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 putting a system of action in place to achieve a certain end result. \u00a0Anytime you have a process in place you can pretty much guarantee a certain end result. \u00a0I have processes in place to ensure results remain consistent.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Systems<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 assembling components together to create a method, scheme or step-by-step plan. \u00a0I use a system to minimize my efforts while maximizing the results.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Methods<\/span> <\/strong>\u2013 ways of doing something using a defined plan. \u00a0I use methods to pass along information in a uniform manner. \u00a0It\u2019s how I can remain consistent in an ever changing environment.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1350 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dictionary-1619740_1920-400x267.jpg?resize=400%2C267\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dictionary-1619740_1920.jpg?resize=400%2C267&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dictionary-1619740_1920.jpg?resize=600%2C400&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dictionary-1619740_1920.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dictionary-1619740_1920.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dictionary-1619740_1920.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Routines<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 the regular course of action, \u00a0like a habit. \u00a0I use a routine to prepare for my day. \u00a0It allows me the assurance that I never forget to do essential things. For example, \u00a0in the morning, one of my routines is to take out all the items I need in grooming and dressing myself for the day. \u00a0The routine is not complete until all the items have been moved back in their appropriate storage location. \u00a0So there is no way for me to forget to do something i.e. like putting on deodorant.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Checks &amp; Balances<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 the limits or accountability I have in place to ensure predetermined behavior. \u00a0I have a partnership- checks &amp; balances-with my wife to make sure I accomplish housekeeping chores.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Flow Charts<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 the diagrammed sequences of how things should flow. My daughter, Tamia, shared this word with me. She picked it up in her second \u00a0grade class and thought I love that word. \u00a0Her teacher wanted them to follow a specific procedure each day and so they all participated in creating the flowchart.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Principles<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 the accepted rules of an action. \u00a0In life setting rules for yourself and family are like setting values. \u00a0If you don\u2019t do this for yourself, others will do it for you by imposing their rules-principles- on you.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Regiment<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 is your managed disciplines. \u00a0I like the word \u201cmanaged\u201d. \u00a0There are things in your life that you and only you can manage. \u00a0So you must be disciplined in certain areas otherwise you will go without constraints.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Accountability<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 is you\/me having someone in place to answer to. In order to achieve something great, one needs accountability, something or someone who will make sure you stay focus.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Protocols<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 the regulations put in place to deal with whatever. \u00a0Protocols are in place to make sure you deal with whatever comes your way. \u00a0Protocols are very important as they give you the edge in life. \u00a0It\u2019s like playing chess, you anticipate the move before it occurs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Standards<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 the rules that set the baseline. \u00a0You use standards as the tool for measurement. \u00a0It\u2019s how you know when something or someone meets your expectations. \u00a0This word was added to my list by a friend\/co-worker who indicated that standards are like a barometer, measuring changes in the atmosphere. \u00a0You must know your past state in order to determine how you\u2019ve improved or regressed at current state.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#0000e2;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#0214FC;border-color:#cee0ff;color:#FFFFFF;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\">Now, here\u2019s a question for you.
