Like you, Pamela and I want to be out of debt so badly, but some of those debts are just too enormous to get them knocked out within the next 2-5 years. \u00a0What do you do with those? You may have guessed my response by now&#8230; you need a plan. It\u2019s a good idea, but a normal one, tried by many and succeeded by few.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use your leftover fund<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0\u00a09 times out of 10 this strategy doesn\u2019t work. \u00a0You want to pay extra by using your leftover funds. \u00a0If you\u2019re like the majority, there are no leftover funds. \u00a0If you had such leftover funds, you would not be in this predicament anyway.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So what\u2019s the solution?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Plan Can Work<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything begins and ends with a plan. \u00a0If you recall our <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/kerryaclark.com\/blog\/rent-to-own-method\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rent-a-center method to paying bills<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you can apply this methodology to small debts, bill-pay, and even large debts. \u00a0You have to find a way to make it simple and less of a pain for you and your family. \u00a0I have two suggestions that will work to help you reduce the debts you owe.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Set up small payments.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Treat your reducing-debt-plan like an additional bill to pay. \u00a0Whether you have 10, 20, or $25 a month you can pay towards this new bill, doesn\u2019t matter just as long as you make the payment. \u00a0Treat it as if it has a due date and add it to the list of bills you currently pay. Keep in mind that this is in addition to the payment you already make. \u00a0Warning: I don\u2019t encourage adding it to the original payment unless you have tremendous discipline, keeping it separate adds just a little more awareness towards the overall goal. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Automate the extra you wish to apply.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Use <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/kerryaclark.com\/blog\/budgeting-starts-with-separating\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a tool like the Simple Card<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that can help you save daily towards a monthly goal of X number of dollars to apply to your debts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The key is to have and make goals you can accomplish which will give you confidence and momentum.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today is Friday!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you have that one, two, or more debts that are so large that no matter what you throw at it, it just won\u2019t go away? \u00a0If this is you, then this post and what it has to offer is worth trying. Doing nothing, changes nothing.
