The Art of An Investment Plan – Part 5<\/span><\/h2>\n

What is the best investment I can make? \u00a0Where do I put my money to yield the best return?<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>At some point in your life, you\u2019ll wonder am I investing in the right place. \u00a0You\u2019ll try many investment opportunities and unfortunately many will fail. Let me give you a real-life example. \u00a0<\/span>Pamela, my wife<\/span><\/a>, decided she should invest some time and money into becoming a Mary Kay salesperson. \u00a0\u00a0There were many people who were doing it and making some additional income. So she went full speed ahead. \u00a0BTW – we also had a close friend who did the same. Long story short, we ate that investment and ended up giving much of the merchandise away to friends. \u00a0This wasn\u2019t a good investment. Why? We\u2019re not cosmetic salespeople. We have no interest in the products. It was out of this failure that we learned a good life-lesson. \u00a0I\u2019ll share; so let\u2019s get to it \u2014 the best places for us to invest. <\/span>

\n<\/span>\"\"The Win-Win<\/strong>
\nThe best place to invest is in yourself. \u00a0You\u2019re a sure thing. Our Mary Kay example illustrated how we invested outside of ourselves. \u00a0How\u2019s that? I\u2019m glad you asked. <\/span>Pamela<\/span><\/a> and I went outside of what we do and tried to do what we saw others do. \u00a0We\u2019re not cosmetic sales people. In fact, we\u2019re not interested in cosmetics at all. \u00a0So, this venture never would have interested us. <\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>In turn, we found that what we needed to identify what we do well. \u00a0\u00a0We\u2019ve taken what we do and our years of experience of doing what we do and have put it to work for us. \u00a0We \u201cbuild others\u201d. We use our time and talents to help people grow and get better at being who they are. \u00a0We help others unlock their own treasure \u2014the potential trapped inside of them. <\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

When you invest in yourself and what you do, it\u2019s a win-win. \u00a0You win because you\u2019re good at it and you win because you\u2019re interested in it. \u00a0You win because when you invest in you, you become a better, more marketable you and it pays off no matter what. \u00a0Your return on you is guaranteed.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The Investment I Discovered<\/strong>
\nOne of the characteristics I\u2019ve been working on developing is in <\/span>finding the good in everyone I meet<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0In a conversation with a coworker who was a salesmen, I asked him the question, what makes you such a good salesman? \u00a0He respond with a list of just a few things he does without fail. He has a strategy of attack that he uses. It was inspiring and I said to him, you need to right a book about that. \u00a0This information would be great in a book that you can sell and, if not sell, at least use for your own personal reference. He has some good information that would be very helpful to others in his field and so do you. \u00a0Why not put it into a form where others can benefit from your wealth of knowledge and success? <\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

These words made me take inventory of what I could offer others. \u00a0Check out what came up with for this exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n
