{"id":2318,"date":"2019-01-25T07:23:25","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T13:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/?p=2318"},"modified":"2019-03-15T09:57:43","modified_gmt":"2019-03-15T14:57:43","slug":"not-just-a-music-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/not-just-a-music-app\/","title":{"rendered":"Not Just A Music App But A Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Concept of a Digital Toolbox &#8211; Part 3<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it comes to digital technology, you have to be careful because you might be missing out on the best inventions since \u201csliced bread\u201d. \u00a0What could using digital music make happen for you?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Your tools should support your life, your business.<br \/><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am always looking for ways that my tools support my life, my home, my business. \u00a0It\u2019s easy to discredit an app or tool because of how someone else uses it. Don\u2019t be tempted to use them like others. \u00a0I remember all the chatter that was going around with the Spotify music app. Based on the noise, I thought I needed to change platforms and then it dawned on me that Spotify may not accomplish what I\u2019m looking for in a digital music tool. \u00a0The first step to assess a tool is to determine if it meets your needs. Anything beyond it meeting your needs is icing on the cake. Secondly, you have to make sure you know what you need so that you get the tool that will work best for you, your life, your business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2319 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/20190125-TIF-Blog-Not-Just-A-Music-App-But-A-Tool.png?resize=760%2C360&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"760\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/20190125-TIF-Blog-Not-Just-A-Music-App-But-A-Tool.png?w=760&amp;ssl=1 760w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/20190125-TIF-Blog-Not-Just-A-Music-App-But-A-Tool.png?resize=400%2C189&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/20190125-TIF-Blog-Not-Just-A-Music-App-But-A-Tool.png?resize=600%2C284&amp;ssl=1 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now for the three tools (you&#8217;ve been waiting for) that support our digital music needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/dmusic\/promotions\/PrimeMusic\/\"><b>Amazon Music<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Amazon music had been our favorite music app (tool) for many years. \u00a0The simple truth why we chose Amazon is three-fold:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon Music allowed us to store our saved music collection online in the cloud. \u00a0For a small fee we could purchase enough storage and even more storage if needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Amazon Music provided less expensive fees for music purchasing. \u00a0They\u2019re cheaper than purchased music from Apple.<\/li>\n<li>Amazon Music worked easily for us to share music as a family.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I use Amazon Music daily when I \u201cplug in\u201d to write. \u00a0It has a great streaming service for select music as a benefit of being an Amazon Prime member. \u00a0Today as a family, we no longer use Amazon music as much, other than to purchase songs and albums from time to time.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/music\/\"><b>Google Play Music<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0This came as a result of our family at one time being all Android users, Samsung Galaxy to be more specific. \u00a0Google Play took what we needed as a family up another step. It allowed for better family sharing. We shifted to Google Play because Google offered enough storage space for our music collections and it\u2019s free with our gmail accounts. \u00a0So we made the transition from Amazon Music storing our collection to Google Play Music. It has served us well for our shared playlists and music sharing. Each year Pamela creates a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/the-first-meeting-of-our-day\/#Prep-Time\">worship playlist<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0for our daily morning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/the-first-meeting-of-our-day\/#Prep-Time\">prep-time<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0She used Google Play Music for this. \u00a0This playlist for the year is one we use every single day of our lives in our home, our business.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/music\/\"><b>Itunes\/Apple Music<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b> \u00a0As time changes everything, we\u2019re slowly migrating back to using Apple Music. \u00a0We all have Apple devices and it\u2019s creating a few benefits to have Apple Music. \u00a0This year is our first trial to using Apple Music for our daily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/the-first-meeting-of-our-day\/#Prep-Time\">prep-time<\/a> worship playlist. \u00a0 Please don\u2019t hear what I\u2019m not saying, we are not abandoning Google Play Music. \u00a0We use each tool for our different needs. In this case, we\u2019ve begun testing out a few of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/ios\/home\/accessories\/\">Apple\u2019s Home accessories<\/a> and it works best of course with Apple Music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember the purpose for this web-post is not to sell you on a particular music app, but rather to help you evaluate the tools that can improve, shape, and support your life, your home, your business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before we end this web-post, we have a few bonus apps for you to check out and consider.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pandora.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pandora Music<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0Pandora is a cool music app that allows its users to create \u201cradio\u201d stations. \u00a0What\u2019s great about these custom radio station is that you get to help improve the selections that are played by liking or disliking what\u2019s played.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0I know most consider YouTube a video streaming service, but it has both music and music videos, but why am I mentioning it here? \u00a0There are times when you remember a song or phrase from a song, but that\u2019s all. I use YouTube to find those songs. For me it\u2019s usually a song from the good-ole-days that I wish to share with family or friends. \u00a0I use YouTube in this way, to travel down memory-lane.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotify.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spotify<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0Spotify provides me with similar benefits that Pandora does. \u00a0The difference I\u2019ve found in the two is this:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pandora does the music selecting for you similar to how radio DJ\u2019s make music genre selections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spotify on the other hand, lets you become the DJ and you get to make the selections.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are more tools available of course, but there\u2019s the one or more tools that can transform your life, your home, your business.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today is Friday!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I understand you may not be looking for a digital music tool, but as a friend I\u2019d like you to consider the ones we\u2019ve shared. \u00a0They have been very helpful in how we do life and I want the same for your.
