If you begin a new job tomorrow, you\u2019ll go into it feeling like you know nothing or at least very little.\u00a0 You have to ask all sorts of questions and possibly have to wait for training before you can do the job. In fact, in the early days, you feel like a burden to those who have to help you get started.\u00a0 But have you ever considered changing shoes? What if you are the person who gets to train the new employee? Now you have all the answers and even the best practices. To that new employee you are a wealth of knowledge and are the most important person to helping them get started on their new job.\u00a0 This is how I want you to see yourself everyday, from this vantage point.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>The Practice:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now let\u2019s take a look into these five growth areas for ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Growth Area 1 &#8211; Our Life.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 In what areas do you shine at home, in school, in class, and in your personal life?\u00a0 For me, I\u2019m an exceptional <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/tag\/note-taker\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">note-taker<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \/ <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/tag\/journaling\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">journal-er<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 I can offer tips, tools, practices, and disciplines that most people don\u2019t have.\u00a0 I\u2019m an expert at this and others who have an interest in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/tag\/journaling\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">note-taking and journaling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will find my gift interesting.\u00a0 Now back to you, what skill, talent, or gift do you have in growth area one (your life) that you use and can be of use to others?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Growth Area 2 &#8211; Our Work.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 What skill, talent, or trade do your have that makes you shine at work or in your work habits, or when it comes to building your career?\u00a0 I can use as an example my organizational skills. I have exceptional skills when it comes to organization. I have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/category\/the-family-plan\/office-administration\/the-concept-of-a-digital-toolbox\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tools<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as binders and digital cloud-based storage to organize my office, projects, teams, and tasks.\u00a0 What can you say you have in your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/category\/the-family-plan\/office-administration\/the-concept-of-a-digital-toolbox\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">toolbox<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that makes you stand out in your work, growth area two?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Growth Area 3 &#8211; Our Spirituality.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 This particular growth area might not be for you.\u00a0 We\u2019re people of faith, so spirituality is important and an area that we target for growth.\u00a0 In what ways can you help others move further along in this area? For us, we have some basic practices that most don\u2019t have.\u00a0 We have a number of Bible translations we share with others. We encourage people to use their Bible app. We teach others how to use Sunday messages not just as another message to sit in on, but <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/mental-fitness-plan\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">like a seminar that you paid a lot to attend<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 In what ways can you inspire and help others grow in their spirituality?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Growth Area 4 &#8211; Our Interactions.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 Using this growth area, Pamela and I have decided to impact more than just ourselves.\u00a0 We use all that we have and have become to mentor others. We have created <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/my-mastermind-group\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">groups<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that meet regularly to encourage and push others to use their gifts.\u00a0 We help others see the benefits and perks of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nolongercommon.com\/category\/nlc-today\/relationships-family\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marriage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 We mentor employees to see and develop more of their potential.\u00a0 What can you use to create interactions that extend beyond yourself?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Growth Area 5 &#8211; Our Relationships. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0This final growth area is very important to most.\u00a0 Since, I take relationships very seriously, it\u2019s one area I work on daily.\u00a0 So, what can I offer others? You see, I <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerryaclark.com\/blog\/reading-plan\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">read books<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that help me grow.\u00a0 I use those books to inspire others to read and grow more.\u00a0 I try to mention these resources as often as I can because most have no idea they exist.\u00a0 So what skill, talent, or gift do you have that can work to make relationships better and stronger?\u00a0 You already know others could use the advice.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today is Friday!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As we conclude this section on the services you have to offer, I hope we\u2019ve helped you see your life as having value others would be glad to have.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s time you take your gift, your skills, and your talents, and put them to use.
