Let’s Expose Our Gifts Together<\/span><\/h2>\n

Living A Life of Focus \u2013 Part 12<\/span><\/h3>\n

Life gets easier when you focus on what you do well and are gifted in doing. It’s all the stuff you’re not good at or comfortable with that creates challenges. When you operate outside your area of strength, your life is a struggle. Coming to the knowledge of this, we decided to promote the things that we have within us so that we can make a huge splash in the world. We created this focus statement, “promoting the gift within us.” This focus statement has a lot to do with our faith because it addresses using the gifts, talents, and skills God has given us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>This is the thought or concept behind “Promoting the Gift Within You (Me).”<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. You must know that <\/span>you have a gift<\/strong>,<\/strong> something that comes easy for you but not so much for anyone else.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. You must know that your gift is useful to others.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. You must be willing to serve it and share it<\/strong> with the world around.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      We believe these three concepts and have decided to spend a year working to perfect, use, and serve our unique gifts.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Practice:<\/span>
      \n<\/span>Here are four practices that we learned on this journey of “promoting the gift with in us.”<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. You have a unique gift to identify.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>“I will bless you and…you will be a blessing to others.” – <\/span><\/em>bible.com\/bible\/116\/GEN.12.2.NLT<\/span><\/em>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/a>Every person has a unique gift, what\u2019s yours? What is it you have that\u2019s meant to be a blessing to others? We\u2019re favored, gifted, and blessed. Therefore we must be a gift, a blessing, and show favor to others.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span>A man reaps what he sows. – <\/span><\/em>          bible.com\/bible\/111\/GAL.6.7.NIV<\/span><\/em>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/a>We reap everything we sow, so focus on sowing our gifts, what we\u2019re the best at. You must learn to sow your gift so that your life is filled with bountiful harvesting.
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. You can reach higher heights with your gift.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>You know what’s interesting is (and we see this all the time) people who use their gifts excel. What\u2019s interesting is that most people (51% or more) don’t use this as an example simply because they don’t believe they\u2019re gifted at anything. Truth is we’re all gifted with a special talent. If you want to go to the next level, higher heights, the only thing that will get you there is your gift, talent, skill.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>We’ve decided that we’re not going to sit back and not use ours, but rather take advantage of the only thing that truly gives us an edge. It may seem like an impossible idea that your gift can take you beyond where it has. So then , let us offer you this.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>We\u2019re not going to stop at tough, when God can take us to impossible.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span>\u201cI am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard [tough] for me?\u201d – <\/span>          bible.com\/111\/jer.32.27.niv<\/span><\/a> <\/em>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span>With a gift like ours, we are going to do what under normal conditions would seem impossible.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span>\u201cBut He said, \u201cThe things which are impossible with men are possible with God.\u201d – <\/span><\/em>          bible.com\/114\/luk.18.27.nkjv<\/span><\/em>
          \n<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/a>Don’t put the pressure on yourself to do what’s impossible, that pressure rest on the one who gave you such an incredible gift. Your job is simply to use it at His directing.<\/p>\n

          <\/span><\/li>\n

        3. You have a strength that’s not getting used.\n

          \u201cIt\u2019s a mistake to focus on [your weaknesses and] the weaknesses of others. <\/span>
          \n<\/span>Most people [normal people] have strengths that they rarely get to use.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>Every person can do at least one thing better than ten thousand other people.\u201d – The Maxwell Daily Reader<\/span><\/em>
          \n<\/span><\/i>
          \n<\/span><\/i>In this lesson, we\u2019re in the job of calling those strengths out of you. When you find this one thing you’re great at, you\u2019ve found your purpose. We want to become the people who point out the strengths in someone else\u2019s life and help them discover the very thing God created them to do.<\/span><\/li>\n

        4. You can impact your family with your gift.\n

          I never wanted my gift to be a benefit to strangers only. I want a gift that leaves a lasting impact on those closest to me. I use my gifts, skills, talents, and my strengths to make my family better. Here are a few ways I approach this in a few close relationships.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>Daughter: As a father, I teach and influence Tamia in the ways of Christ and how she can have an impact on her world and accomplish more than we both could ever dream possible.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>Wife: As a husband, I constantly highlight my wife\u2019s strong-suites, gifts, talents and leadership skills. Her gifts are valuable and precious. She is my partner in life and together we are able to achieve more than either of us can imagine for Christ.<\/span>
          \n<\/span>Sibling: As a brother, I am doing all I can to make my brother and sister successful in life. Together, we’re building a family business that will be passed down from generation to generation.<\/p>\n

          <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          We promote the gifts within us so that God can be glorified. We pray that our lifestyle attracts non-believers to the kingdom of God. The same can be true for you when you promote the gift that’s within you.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Today is Friday!
          \n<\/span>Think about Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, a gifted NFL quarterback. Most athletes envy Tom, but more importantly, most athletes want to be like Tom. We use our gifts so that others want to be like us and we don’t take lightly the example we’re setting when using our God-given gifts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          People should envy us because we’ve learned to master such a gift. I’ve discovered that if we use our gifts and talents well, they have the ability to attract others. In doing so we have an opportunity to set the best example we possibly can for others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
