This guide is included to help walk you through completing your very own Family Plan. Remember this thought: your life is your business. That means this binder is yours and no one else’s. It’s not like anyone else’s because your life is your own to do with it what you make it. Let’s get started.
Introduction
You will find on pages 2-5 a summary of what’s included in your copy of the Family Plan:
- Page 2 – Table of Content. This is your high level outline of each section.
- Page 3 – Planning. The Kerry A. Clark & Co. team wants to explain why you need a Family Plan and why planning is essential to the success of having the life you desire.
- Page 4 – Family Plan Summary. The goal of your Family Plan is to take you to your desired destination. It helps you define where you are currently and maps the course to the destination of your choosing.
- Page 5 – The Departments In Your Home (Life). Just like any business, you must be able to segment its various function. Your family, your life is no different. You have departments, but unlike a business, you have the sole responsibility of them all.
The Departments
Here you will find the essentials. Included are the eight departments that are most common to any home or individual. Before I give you the eight sections, please keep in mind that your objective is two-fold: define where you are currently and where you wish to go (with in the next 12 months). The main key is to write something, anything, down on these pages.
Now for the sections:
- Page 6 – Executive Administration. Define who is responsible and involved in how decisions are made for the business we call your family. List how this is currently done and then how you desire it to be done.
- Page 7 – Accounting and Fiscal Department. Define how you plan to use the monetary resources you have at your disposal. This is very helpful to establishing the financial plans for your family.
- Page 8 – Facilities. Define how you maintain and plan to maintain your family’s possessions.
- Page 9 – Office Administration. Define how you maintain your family’s records, important dates, documents, files and keepsakes.
- Page 10 – Production & Development. Define how you plan to produce (income), grow, and develop your family, your business.
- Page 11 – Marketing, Creative and Public Relations. Define who you are and how you promote it.
- Page 12 – Human Resources. Define how you will care for your family. While most users have more content for the financial piece, Human Resource has become the most important section.
- Page 13 – Legal and Political. Define how you will interact with the world around you. What are your legal needs, taxes, rights, and voting goals?
Use of The Family Plan
