Pushing You to the Next Level
What is “Today Is Friday?”
Today-Is-Friday is our weekly blog or email on the subject of how one can make their life their business. We are not implying for a second that you need to own a business, but rather, your life is the business you already own. What are you doing with your life? Secondly, what you do with your life is your business and your business alone. No one else will live your life for you and you can not live another’s life. So how can you make the most out of yours?
When Pamela and I began what we call “Today is Friday” we didn’t have all the pieces polished enough to explain it the way we do now. Our Today-Is-Friday content began while I was in the height of my telecommunications career. Each Friday, I made it my point to enhance the lives of those persons who served on the team with me. Today-Is-Friday was my way of intentionally adding value to a group of people who had a desire to improve their personal life and life in the workplace. I believe when a person develops themselves personally, by default they develop professionally. You see, Zig Ziglar is noted for saying, ” you can have everything you want in life if you just help enough people get what they want in life.” While I had no desire to get anything at the time, I got more than what I could have imagined; a team that could accomplish anything we were ever presented. “Today-Is-Friday” was the mechanism that yielded our life long mission of taking everyone we meet or encounter to the next level.
Taking Your Life to the Next Level
If you know me or have been around us for any length of time, you’ll hear this phrase quite often: next level. This phrase has many synonyms but the same message. The synonyms we use are words like: uncommon, no-longer-common, unlike anyone else, next steps, first class, best in your class, etc. We intend to use everything we have to take others to the next level. We plan to make sure we push others to become better with every encounter.
Why Friday?!
The reason we selected Friday, is for a few reasons:
- Friday is naturally the last date of the work week and most people are generally in a good mood.
- Studies show that Friday is the least stressful and least busy of the workdays.
- Because of the mental space one finds themselves in on Friday, it’s the perfect time to insight personal growth and development.
- Friday is a good day to provide something good for others and it goes a lot further with them than if it were Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
