The Missing Step to On Paper We Don’t Have Enough
The fifth step, I hate to tell you, was our step one of On Paper We Don’t Have Enough. We decided to do what very few people are willing or courageous enough to do. Are you ready to hear it?
We decided that giving 10% of our income away was mandatory and the top priority of the expenses listed. This 10% is called the tithe. It’s how we honor God for the income we already have and invite Him to be first place in helping us out of the mess we created by mishandling His resources, the rest of what we make.
Giving our tithe is not an option and we didn’t worry much about which church to give to. This money was from us to God, not a church. We could care less what the church does with it as long as we know we gave it to a loving God who would assist us in executing our plan to be successful bill payers.
Giving our tithe is not optional and we don’t worry about what bills we have hanging over our head before we give our tithe. We’ve done that and it doesn’t work. We decided to do something that’s not ordinary, normal or common. We figured that everything else we tried failed so let’s try something different. It works.
If you desire to have finances like you’ve never had before, you’ll need to do with your finances something you’ve never done before.
