My Family Has a Plan, Does Your?
Part 3 – How to Navigate the Waves of Life
In our previous post, we discussed how drifting through life causes one to get off course. In this installment, I want to take the time to tell you what you can do to stop drifting. The Family Plan is just one of the tools you can use to counter the drifting effect on your life. Just like a float, a paddle board, a canoe, or a boat, The Family Plan can be used to help you navigate a pathway through the waves of life so that you can with certainty reach a desired destination without drowning. Here’s how…
Gaining control of life, your life-your business
So how can someone stop drifting? Here are a couple of actions you must take to stop drifting:
Realize you’re off course. Take a moment to look at what’s happening around your life. Evaluate what you’ve done in the last 2, 5, 10 or more years. Are you where you dreamed you’d be? If the answer is no, then you’ve drifted off course. Step 1 is to determine that you’re off course.
- Write down your desired destination. Where do you want to be? I would be as crazy radical as possible with this step. Put aside what others might think or say and write what you desire most out of life.
- Have some sort of gauge to measure your distance. Now that you know where you desire to be, you must calculate how far off course you are. How many miles are you off course? How long will it take for you to reach your destination? How hard must you work? How much money will you need to acquire?
- Learn to live with the waves. You’re not out of the water yet and the waves will never stop. The truth is all you’re doing is learning to live with the waves. If you learn to live with the waves, you’ll also learn how the waves work and that gives you an advantage to navigate through the waves.
It doesn’t happen by chance.
Getting what you desire doesn’t happen by chance or just because you want it bad enough; it takes a plan. By chance will cause you to float away or float through life without ever having given thought to what you wanted out of it in the first place. With The Family Plan, we give you an opportunity to define what you want, keep your eyes on it, and navigate to a destination you selected. In other words, you get the life you wanted.
Stop dreaming and start getting.
It’s not enough to dream. The one step most forget to do with their dreams is to write it down. Something so simple like not writing it down will keep you from getting everything you want or at least keep you from getting on course to achieve it. Write it down. Study what you’ve written and ask the questions you need to ask yourself to get there. What can I do today that will help me reach my goal?
You are closer to your destination than you think. With The Family Plan, we’ve seen families not only reach a desired destination, but also set course for new destinations that exceed their original desires.
