Planning is Necessary and Essential
Part 2 – You Can Be Wise Or A Fool, But You Can’t Be Both
A wise man [an uncommon person] thinks ahead [makes plans]; a fool [a normal person] doesn’t [make plans] and even brags about it [not having a plan of action]! (Proverbs 13:16 NLT)
A wise man thinks ahead…
The wise man or the person who is not normal thinks ahead and makes plans for everything. I could have stopped at the word “thinks”. An extraordinary person thinks and makes plans to be ahead. That’s what plans do for us, they position us to be ahead of the pack, get beyond average. If I’m normal and desire to be no longer common, then I need to learn how the uncommon think and plan. What’s their secret?
Think ahead…
Being uncommon means you become a planner…you plan ahead. You learn how to define “what you want” beyond today. What do you want to see tomorrow?
- Plan your continued education. You plan for the type of education you will need to accomplish the career you want and the type of business you want to run or own.
- Plan your relationships. You plan and think through ways that will allow you to have lasting relationships.
- Plan your spiritual pursuit. You plan for and define the type of church you want to attend and the faith-filled religious values you wish to set for your home.
- Plan for personal & family growth. You plan for your personal development and growth. What does your family do as a unit to set them apart from others?
- Plan for impacting more than just yourself. You plan on making a difference in society and your neighborhood. You plan on how you will spend your down time.
You plan. You plan. You plan. Planning is what sets you apart from the rest.
A fool [a normal person] doesn’t [make plans] and even brags about it!
The normal person or the person who is not wise goes about life without any plans and makes himself okay with that. They end up with normal results and as you and I know normal results just aren’t enough.
For more than 6 years, Pamela and I have been drafting a plan that covers every area of our lives and it’s this plan that’s allowed us to have the type of lifestyle we desire. From how to have a successful blended family to how we participate as volunteers in our local church. Today, our family plan is roughly 43 pages that detail what we desire for our lives and we use it as a working document to have the life we desire. Now it’s time for you to have the life you want; let us lead you into creating your very own family plan.
A wise man thinks ahead; a fool doesn’t…
