My Dad’s Favorite Scripture Taught Me to Execute a Plan

My Dad’s Favorite Scripture Taught Me to Execute a Plan

Today I need to sell you on The Family Plan.  There it is, I’m exposing my plan and here’s why.  I know so many people who struggle at life for many reasons, but the underlying reason is because they never had a plan for their success.  Is this you?  Why go through life like everyone else-why end up letting life just happen-when you can go through life with a plan that will work?  What if all you had to do was sit down with me for just a minute and describe the kind of life you wanted and it would happen just like, you laid it out?  This is what I’m offering you today.

Take the dreams and desires you have off-hold.
Let me begin with a story, a bible story.  Side-note: click the hyperlinks within this message to read more of Nehemiah’s story.  There was a man named Nehemiah who worked for one of the kings of his day.  Just like you he did his job to the best of his ability.  Life seemed fine until one day something happened that made him realize that he wasn’t really living at all.  His brother and a few others came for a visit and reminded him of his hometown, Jerusalem.  He asked how things were going back home and as they reported things weren’t good.  In fact they were very bad and to add to it The Wall of Jerusalem had been torn down.  This devastated Nehemiah to the point he couldn’t stop thinking about it for months after hearing the status.  What is it you’re having trouble shaking?  What dream or idea do you have that won’t turn you loose?

I’m asking you to change your outcome.20161111-tif-sm-whats-in-the-family-plan
Nehemiah started to think about what happened, the problem.  Then he prayed about it.  He didn’t just say oh well, there’s nothing I can do about it.  He didn’t say this problem is too great to be resolved.   Instead, he said what normal people don’t.  I’ll do something about it; I will go to Judah to rebuild the city and The Wall of Jerusalem. Now I need you to say that you will accomplish the dream, the goal, complete the education, get the promotion, or perform the feet you have set in your heart.  From there, Nehemiah began to walk out the plan.  Everything he did now aligned with the goal.  This is what having a plan does.  It aligns all you have and all that you are in the direction of the goal you wish to accomplish.

The biggest mistake normal people have is moving in too many directions.  Normal people move with the wind.  They see what one person is doing and jump on the bandwagon.  I’ve seen people change jobs because someone else changed jobs.  I have seen people change schools because someone else made their school seem better.  The point is normal people don’t have singular focus to keep them rooted and grounded.  It’s time you focused in on your dreams and don’t take your eyes off of it.

The plan will provide for itself.
Nehemiah found that once he set his focus on his dream the dream took care of itself.  The resources he needed showed up.  None of what he needed for his dream showed up when he was doing the wrong job and neither will yours.  His provision didn’t show up until he started working his plan.  His plans weren’t derailed because opposition showed up.  In fact, he told his opposition he didn’t have time for them, he had a goal to accomplish.  I want that to be your statement.  I’m so in tuned with my goals and dreams, that I don’t have time to be derailed.  I don’t have time to be sick.  I don’t have time to be broke.  I don’t have time to hate on someone else’s dreams and accomplishments.   Work your plan and the plan will provide for itself.

Another side-note, I use this scripture to make sure I don’t take my eyes off my goals: “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.”  What would you like to accomplish with your life?  What do you want to be?  Be bold share it with me today!

If you want a life that’s worth living, you’re going to have to do what people who have lives worth living do-work your plan.   What is the one thing you feel you must do to have the life you always wanted?  Leave me a comment.
