What Do You Have To Offer?
Producing For Others – Part 1
In this section, we discuss how you produce or what exactly are your products. Another way to say this is what are you offering your world and what do you plan to offer your world? What are your gifts and what services do you have to offer? How do you plan to use these services and offerings? What’s your plan to develop and use them? All this and more is coming in this new series and the department in your Family Plan that we call “Product(ion) and Development.”
The Thought or Concept:
Your Life Is Your Business
Let me remind you that your life is a business and just like any other business there are departments that function together to do the work of making your life the success that it is. When you don’t think of your life in this way, you live without purpose, passion, or significance. You go through life without direction.
When you operate as if your life has meaning, what it says is that you have ways that you currently produce. You see yourself as a contributor and not just a consumer. This concept of producing may seem a little strange, but that’s what a business and in this case a life does. You produce (your life produces) in various ways. Of course the number one way you produce is centered around what produces income, but this is not the only way you produce. There are ways that you produce that provide indirect benefits. You have places you volunteer, then there are the activities you’re involved in or with and of course there are your hobbies. What you do at home. Are you taking advantage of your lawn-care skills or your ability to clean house or wash clothing? These all have the potential to produce, if you find a way you can leverage them. You might enjoy exercising in your off hours, this too offers a way to develop and produce.
The Practice:
In this next set of web-posts, our focus is on the Product(ion) and Development department of your life which is your business. Have you given any attention to what you produce and how you’re developing your products?
Over the next few weeks we will answer these questions which I’d like you to begin thinking about…
- How are you producing today?
- How are we improving in our current role?
- How do we plan to develop so that we can produce in the future?
- How can we better situate ourselves for promotion?
- How can we add margin to our lives while improving and developing?
- What are the services you offer others or can offer others today?
All this and more is coming your way. I recently outlined the services that I have to offer and it really excites me to know what it looks like once I had it down on paper. I am looking forward to the upcoming weeks and sharing the same with you so that you too can be excited about the services, products, talents, and skills you have to offer.
